Facilities and Support Staff

Creating a Safe Space for Dreams

Behind every successful programme are dedicated people who help create a safe, clean and supportive environment in which others can learn, work and grow.
Today, we celebrate Erick Lwaula Kahilu, a valued member of WISE Zambia’s Facilities and Support Staff.

Erick grew up in Namando Community in Luampa District and completed his primary education at Namando Primary School. He joined WISE Zambia on 3 March 2019.

In his role, Erick helps safeguard the organisation’s premises and maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming environment for beneficiaries, staff, partners and visitors.

Although much of his work takes place behind the scenes, it makes an important contribution to WISE Zambia’s mission. By helping provide a secure and well-maintained environment, Erick enables programmes and activities to be delivered effectively and with dignity.

Why he serves

Erick finds purpose in guiding young people as they overcome challenges and work towards achieving their educational goals.

“It gives me genuine satisfaction to guide young people, see them overcome obstacles and achieve their education goals.”

What gives him the greatest satisfaction

For Erick, the most rewarding part of his work is seeing beneficiaries embrace guidance, remain committed to their education and eventually contribute positively to their families, communities and Zambia as a whole.

The change he has witnessed

Since joining WISE Zambia, Erick has witnessed both personal and organisational growth. He has seen the development of new infrastructure and an increase in the number of students receiving educational support.

These changes have strengthened his belief that education and sustained guidance can transform individual lives and entire communities.

His message to beneficiaries

“Take full advantage of your educational scholarship. Keep your goals alive in your heart and remain focused.”

His message to partners and supporters

“Your support goes far beyond what you may imagine. By empowering vulnerable children and students, you are also strengthening their families, communities and the nation.”

Erick expresses his sincere gratitude to all WISE Zambia partners and supporters for helping transform lives in meaningful and lasting ways.

“May the good Lord continue to keep you in good health as you support children and young people to build better futures.”
