With so many upsetting things going on in the world, we are fortunate to be able to shine a light on something good. WISE is a one-of-a-kind nonprofit doing crucial work for vulnerable women and children. In doing so, we build relationships across oceans to help improve the lives and communities of people living in dire poverty.WISE not only provides education and skill training to women and children in dire poverty, but in a manner that creates true self-sufficiency, and the ability to pull others out of poverty. WISE creates a ripple effect that transforms lives now and into the future.

Because WISE volunteers hail from all over the country, it is relatively easy to find a local angle for a story, and WISE’s board members, staff, and even some of the people WISE is helping are all more than happy to talk to the press. In a sometimes frightening and uncertain era, WISE is an example of people coming together from Maine to Arizona to Zambia in an effort to make our world just a little bit better.
