Nasilele's Story
Kaoma Secondary School’s valedictorian for the 2015 school year was none other than WISE scholarship recipient Nasilele. Nasilele’s father was a retired soldier who put his savings into purchasing a truck for a transportation business. Shortly thereafter, the truck was involved in an accident, and with that, the family lost its income and assets. With four children in school, the family did not have the funds to pay the required school tuition for everyone.
As a result of the WISE scholarship, Nasilele was able to not only complete her high school education, but excel. She credits some of her success to her WISE colleagues: “We were like a family, helping each other.”
Nasilele is planning to attend the University of Zambia, seeking a degree in medicine.
